Thursday in NYC

Today it was freezing cold but we still had a great day in NYC. It was around -12°C.
Really really cold. I took the train to the city and then I met my brother at Penn Station. We didn´t really had a plan what we want to do today, but finally we decided to take the subway to Brooklyn and walk over the Broklyn Bridge. It was so cold and windy on the bridge, but the view was totally worth it. Afterwards we wanted to have dinner in a nice restaurant in Little Italy. It was really hard to choose between all the restaurants because there were so many. But in the end I think we made the right choice and we both really enjoyed our italian food.

Then we had the great idea to go to the NY aquarium which is in Brooklyn on Coney Island. So we took the subway for a 40 min ride. But when we finally arrived at the aquarium we found out that the aquarium will close in 5 min. (It was already 4:30). Now we know it´s always better to check the opening times before you go somewhere. So we had to do something else. We decided to go to the beach. It was nice - but really cold. And there was lierally no one else here - except a few crazy people who had to go for a walk with their dogs. I´m pretty sure in summer this place here is full of people. So I think i will defenitely come back in the summer times.
Then we went to the next subway station and drove back to Manhatten (for around 40 min ...).

It was still freezing cold. So we just wanted to go somewhere warm. We still had two hours left till the basketball game starts. So we decided to go to see the movie "Selma". The movie theater at Time Squares is crazy. I don´t know how many floors it has. But defentiely mor than usually. After we´ve bought our tickets it took us around 20 min just to get to the movie. The movie was pretty good. But we couldn´t finish it because we had to leave earlier to be on time for the basketballd game at Madison Square Garden.

The basketball game was really cool. The Madison Square Garden is so big. We didn´t had the best seats. But we still had a great view.

Cultural Day

Starting the day with a NYC-bagel is always a great idea.

After breakfast we decided to visit the Guggenheim Museum
which is located next to the Central Park.

The end of our day was then the broadway musical "The Lion King". That was so amazing.

The theater was right at the Time Square. After the show our last stop before we returned to our hotel was the Time Square. It was around 11pm and it felt like it´s just daytime. Pretty amazing.

New York City Sight: Seeing with my family

Our hotel was near Grand Central. That was quite good so we only had to walk around 5 minutes to Grand Central and then we could take the subway to whereever we wanted to go.

Today we went to Lower Manhatten where the Financal District. We also visited the Trinity Chruch.

Then we went to the Battery Park. It´s a really nice park and it´s definetly worth a visit.

Then we took the Staten Island Ferry which is for free. During the ferry ride we passed the Statue of Liberty. And when we arrived on Staten Island we had a great view of the skyline of Manhatten.

Rockerfeller Center

If you´re visitng New York City you have to go to the Rockerfeller Center and enjoy the beautiful and amazing view over Manhatten and the Central Park. It´s just amazing how big this city really is. We were lucky becuase the weather was pretty good today. The view was amazing!

Every year a huge christmas tree is put up in front of the Rockerfeller Center.
There´s also an icerink where you can go ice skating if you have the patience to wait long enough.

New Year´s Eve in NYC with my family! :)

Finally after 5 month  I see my family again! I´m so happy that my parents are also visitng me here in America. It´s really hard to describe how you feel, when you meet your family after 5 month. All I can say is that I was soooo soooo happy.
We stayed almost a whole week in the City. That was so great.

New Year´s Eve dinner at Delmonicos:

After we had dinner we decided to go to the Brooklyn Bridge. It was very cold. Anyhow there were still so many people. So we waited till it turns 12:00. We waited for around 20 minutes. But that was still too long. My feet were freezing. Finally it was 12:01. We expected a big firework. But unfortunately the "firework" wasn´t as big as we expected to be. But it was still a great day! And it was so much more greater to start the new year 2015 together with my family.

Christmas 2015

It´s Christmas! Finally. This year it´s really not a normal Christmas for me. I´m celebrating Christmas in America. And I´m so happy that my brother is here to visit me over the Christmas holidays. So a part of my family is around me. I´m so so happy about this.
This Christmas is so different than any other Christmas I´ve ever experienced. Different - but different in a good way.

Sooooooooooooooo many presents!
And such a huuuuuuuuge christmas tree!

How the grinch stole Christmas

Tonight I went together with the kids in the city to see the musical "How the Grinch stole Christmas".
We took the train at around 5pm, and after 1:20h we were in the Madison Square Garden in NYC.

I love musicals! If I would have the money I would see a musical every weekend.

The Grinch: It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags.
Narrator: The the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before.
The Grinch: Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas...
Narrator: He thought
The Grinch: ...means a little bit more.

This is just a video from you tube. It´s not the show we saw.
But it´s similar.
